Sharon Scotland’s 40-Year-Service Anniversary
Mackenzie Construction is celebrating the 40th anniversary of our longest-serving employee, Sharon Scotland.
Sharon joined the business on 6th February 1984 as an office junior and has held a number of roles during her time at Mackenzie Construction. For a long time, she was our Administration Manager and is well known amongst our longer serving employees, and popular with all. There isn’t much that Sharon doesn’t know about Mackenzie Construction and with a great head for figures and an eye for detail, she took on the unenviable role of Valuations Manager a few years ago.
Sharon often tells stories of the early days of Mackenzie Construction, when they called the site via satellite phone, and there were only a handful of employees. Over the years Mackenzie Construction has changed but one thing that’s remained steady is our commitment to people and promoting from within. Sharon has played a big role in Mackenzie Construction over the last 40 years, and we are grateful for the knowledge and skills she has instilled into the younger generations.
On Tuesday 6th February, Mackenzie Construction honoured Sharon’s incredible journey, crowning her the longest-serving member of the Mackenzie Construction Family. This surprise celebration ran on Tuesday at our Head Office where a presentation was given, reflecting four decades of Sharon’s dedication, hard work and countless memories. We celebrated with Sharon’s all-time favourite treat, a Chippy Van, allowing for a day filled with joy, laughter and plenty of chips.
“Sharon works hard but loves to have fun and has an infectious laugh – she is small in stature but big in personality and a night out just wouldn’t be the same without her!” – Shirley McInnes, HR Manager
We have enjoyed celebrating this monumental occasion, honouring the past, savouring the present and toasting to the future. A huge congratulations and thank you to Sharon for all her hard work and dedication to the business over the past 40 years!
