Meta Skills Workshop for our Trainees

On Tuesday 10th December, Mackenzie Construction trainees participated in an engaging and interactive Meta Skills workshop designed to equip them with the tools to enhance both their personal and professional growth. The workshop, tailored to support younger colleagues, focused on understanding and developing the key Meta Skills essential for achieving individual, team, and strategic objectives.

The workshop kicked off with a warm welcome, followed by an energising icebreaker, setting the tone for an inclusive and collaborative session. Trainees explored the concept of Meta Skills and their importance, delving into how these skills can attract and engage early talent while fostering career development.

Key elements of the workshop included Meta skills self-evaluation exercises, Developing Meta skills exercises, Meta skills coach models, a growth mindset and a ball game using all Meta skills. The session then concluded with trainees creating personalised Meta Skills Action Plans.

The workshop was supported by engaging resources, including Meta skills flashcards, diagnostic wheels, and development activity ideas. These tools, combined with the collaborative environment, ensured that participants left the session equipped with actionable insights to drive their development.

Mackenzie Construction’s investment in the Meta Skills workshop reaffirms our commitment to nurturing future talent and supporting personal and professional growth. We would like to extend our thanks to Nicola Dillon, from BEEE Works Limited, for facilitating the course.
