Mackenzie Construction visits CECA Scotland Academy at UHI Inverness

Mackenzie Construction’s regional team in the North recently visited UHI Inverness to lead a CECA Scotland Academy Engagement Day with students currently enrolled on the CECA Scotland Academy Civil Engineering Operative course.

The day featured engaging discussions and active participation between the students and our team. We provided an overview of Mackenzie Construction, showcasing the range of works we undertake and our role within the civil engineering marketplace.

One of our site teams—Neil, Jason, Konrad, and Harrison—shared their industry experiences and insights into working at Mackenzie Construction. Konrad and Harrison, as former graduates of the CECA Scotland Academy course, offered valuable perspectives on the transition to employment and their positive experiences within Mackenzie Construction and the civil engineering industry.

The team also led a ‘hands-on’ pipework connection practical session, with all students enthusiastically taking part.

The day concluded with the students presenting their concrete and drainage works in the purpose-built yard. This provided another opportunity for meaningful, industry-relevant conversations and advice, with active input from both students and our team.

It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm, skills, and impressive facilities at the CECA Scotland Academy.

Special thanks to Neil, Jason, Konrad, and Harrison for their efforts and genuine engagement with the students. We also extend our thanks to course leader Liam MacKay and all the students for hosting us.
