Joining the team: David Pullam

We are delighted to welcome David Pullam to the Mackenzie Construction family as a Site Engineer. David has a range of civils experience, beginning his career working on the AWPR and A9 Dualling projects and more recently worked on the North Bridge Refurbishment in Edinburgh.

Job title:

Site Engineer

Tell us a bit about yourself:

I’m David, 22 years old with two amazing dogs – Trevor and Millie. I’m a big supporter of the Dons (Aberdeen FC) and looking to get back into football myself – I’ve not been able to play regularly as I’d like as I was often working away from home.

Work history:

Previously I worked for Balfour Beatty, where I started my apprenticeship working on the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route, a £750 million project. I then worked on the A9 Dualling (Luncarty to Pass of Birnam) project, where I was a Trainee/Graduate Engineer. More recently I’ve worked on the Cairngorm Funicular Project as a Site Engineer, followed by the North Bridge Refurbishment project in the city centre of Edinburgh.

What interested you about working with Mackenzie Construction:

My interest started with Mackenzie Construction as they have a lot of work on the east coast and after three projects away from home, I was looking for something in my area. Mackenzie Construction are known for being excellent in training up their own staff which was something that sold me from one of my very first conversations with Mark.

What are you looking forward to in your new role:

The training and gaining the experience to run construction sites effectively and safely myself. I’m also looking forward to building the confidence to thrive in my field and progressing my career at Mackenzie Construction.
