HIE Campus Carpark Upgrade Works

Mackenzie Construction is delighted to be undertaking a project for Inverness Campus developer Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), completing carpark upgrade works. The contract, which commenced in February and is set for completion in May, includes the following scope of work; design, earthworks, drainage, lighting, and surfacing.
The project, being led by our dedicated team in the North, is progressing well, remaining “on programme”. The initial setup, including welfare facilities and site preparation, has been successfully completed, and work has begun on duct and drainage installations.
This contract is particularly significant as it not only marks a new client collaboration with HIE, but given the nature of the work, which involves both design and construction, the project team is effectively delivering a design and build service.
A key highlight is the sustainable approach adopted in partnership with a local third-party contractor, which involves recycling materials within the campus. This initiative not only minimizes off-site disposal costs but also contributes to a reduced carbon footprint, aligning with modern sustainability goals.
Beyond its technical and environmental benefits, this project serves as an important milestone in the company’s expansion within the North of Scotland. It strengthens the company’s reputation in the region, showcasing an ability to undertake a diverse range of civil engineering projects while reinforcing relationships with new clients in the North of Scotland.
