CECA Academy graduates join Mackenzie Construction

Mackenzie Construction is delighted to support CECA Scotland Academy, a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn and develop their skills to create a pathway for a lifelong career within the Civil Engineering Industry.

In February 2024, we welcomed two CECA Academy graduates to the team in Operative Positions. Connor Johnstone and Sage Patrick have both joined us after successfully completing their CECA Scotland Academy Civil Engineering Operative (CEO) course at Fife College.

The CECA Scotland Academy is a training-to-work pathway, that creates qualified Civil Engineering Operatives (CEOs). This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn and develop their skills to create a pathway for a lifelong career within the Civil Engineering sector. The Training Academy runs full-time for 18 weeks and on completion, students receive an NPA (National Progression Award). The course is a fantastic opportunity to get practical insights and hands-on experience and offers every student a job interview once completed.

We know our young people are the future of Mackenzie Construction, and we want to allow them the best possible opportunities to develop and grow their careers. Our ambitious future goals recognise the role our young workforce will play in achieving our targets and we are committed to attracting, nurturing and retaining the industry’s best young talent.

We are delighted to have the opportunity to further Connor & Sage’s careers in Civil Engineering at Mackenzie Construction and are pleased to welcome them to the Mackenzie Construction family.

“Mackenzie Construction has long been invested in the development and growth of young talent. Connor and Sage are just at the beginning of their journey with Mackenzie Construction, and we are so excited to watch them develop and grow both personally and, in their careers.”
