CECA Academy Graduates join Mackenzie Construction Inverness

Mackenzie Construction is delighted to support CECA Scotland Academy, a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn and develop their skills to create a pathway for a lifelong career within the Civil Engineering Industry.

At the beginning of July 2024, we welcomed two CECA Academy graduates to our regional office in Inverness, in General Operative positions. Konrad Baczkiewicz and Harrison Macleman both joined us after successfully completing the CECA Scotland Academy, Civil Engineering Operative (CEO) course, at Inverness College UHI. Konrad and Harrison are currently working under the mentorship of Inverness employees Neil Davidson and Jason Bennet, gaining the knowledge and skills to give them a kickstart in a Civil Engineering career at Mackenzie Construction.

This is the second CEO programme that CECA Scotland Academy have run across a number of colleges in Scotland. We were lucky to have two CECA graduates, Connor Johnstone and Sage Patrick, start with us in February 2024, after graduating from the inaugural course at Fife College. Connor, Sage, Konrad and Harrison are helping us cement a successful future for Mackenzie Construction as we recognise the next generation of talent. Our ambitious future goals recognise the role our young workforce will play in achieving our targets and we are committed to attracting, nurturing and retaining the industry’s best young talent.

The CECA Scotland Academy is a training-to-work pathway, that creates qualified Civil Engineering Operatives (CEOs). This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn and develop their skills to create a pathway for a lifelong career within the Civil Engineering sector. The Training Academy runs full-time for 18 weeks and on completion, students receive an NPA (National Progression Award). The course is a fantastic opportunity to get practical insights and hands-on experience and offers every student a job interview once completed.

We are delighted to have the opportunity to further Konrad and Harrisons’ careers in Civil Engineering at Mackenzie Construction and are pleased to welcome them to the Mackenzie Construction family.
