HSE Advisor
Region: England - Northeast
Reporting to: HSEQ Manager
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced HSE Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting a positive health and safety culture in the workplace, ensuring compliance with safety legislation, and implementing effective safety policies and procedures. You will work closely with the HSEQ Manager to uphold the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental impact in line with our company values.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Develop and enforce safe operational procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Perform regular site inspections and audits.
- Provide in-house training on health and safety practices and risks.
- Maintain records, report findings, and suggest improvements.
- Manage incident reporting and conduct investigations.
- Stay updated on relevant health and safety legislation.
- Advise on specialist safety areas, including fire regulations and hazardous substances.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong technical knowledge of health and safety standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyse complex information and present it clearly.
- Strong IT skills and attention to detail.
- Full driving licence (essential for site visits).
- IOSH certification (or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ISO 9001:2015, 45001:2018 & 27001:2013 standards.
- Previous experience in construction or industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with environmental sustainability practices.
