      Belville Street

Situated high above Greenock seafront is Belville Street High Flats. Mackenzie Construction has won various contracts within the 16 Storey blocks on Belville Street . Jedburgh, Kelso and Langholm Courts were all re-roofed by our Structural Repairs division as part of a major upgrading programme.

Mackenzie Construction adopted for a roof edge protection scaffold system which is cantilevered out from the vacated top floor flats through the window openings. Over 150 tonnes of structural steelwork went into the works which included a standing seam roof system.

Inverclyde Council ‘s innovative design features triangular roof dormers and glazed curtain walling which when lit inside should create a lighthouse type effect.

Despite the confined working space around the blocks and the split roof layout involved, Mackenzie are proud of adding another project to their list of over-roofing successes.

Mackenzie Construction was also awarded the contract for the supply and installation of high level secuiry lighting to the Belville Street High Flats, contracts previously completed by our Structural Refurbishment Division for Inverclyde Council. The introduction of this lighting will resulted in the CCTV Cameras having a great deal more accuracy in monitoring the surrounding areas. The total value of the contract was in the region of £2.6M
