Mackenzie Construction successfully completed the project at the BP Oil (UK) distribution Terminal in Inverness on programme. The works involved concrete repairs to the service yard.

The works for the project comprised of the excavation of 1000m2 of concrete yard and made ground to a depth of 0.5m.The placement of new sub-base material and concrete yard with brush finish and joints cut with Thioflex oil resistant sealant were required to complete the contract.

All operatives included in the contract had to attend a specialised course to enter any BP Oil premises. All plant used within the terminal had to be adapted with spark arrestors to prevent any sparks occurring igniting gasses present and produced at the terminal. A permit to work system had to be signed every day before work commenced to ensure that all works were carried out safely.< FONT>
