Work has recently completed on the contract to reopen the Bo'ness outer harbour to Forth estuary leisure craft on behalf of Falkirk Council and Scottish Enterprise Forth Valley as part of a regeneration programme for this historic town.

Lying immediately adjacent to the town centre, the harbour contract valued at £140,000 is the first part of a larger proposal to redevelop the Bo'ness Harbour area. The works, comprise the provision and installation of a new pedestrian access bridge, which will span the harbour, together with construction of new walkways, berthing and access points for boats, nautical beacons and provision of lighting, all within the outer harbour area. This will provide an identified much needed stopping point for boats travelling to the Millennium Link and Falkirk Wheel.
