We pride ourselves on fostering a culture of innovation and respectful challenge to existing practices as we focus on continuous improvement.
Our construction teams are encouraged to challenge designs, scopes and methods of construction within an ethos of continually asking if there is a safer, or more efficient, way to carry out an operation.
Mackenzie Construction’s knowledge sharing ethos provides opportunity for this innovation to be captured as well as more formal procedures for identifying opportunities for improvement detailed within our business management systems.
We aim to maximise efficiency by attending industry events, leveraging partner knowledge and adopting new systems, innovations, technology or equipment, which may reduce manpower or time. This includes actively seeking new and better methods and more efficient methodologies through up-skilling and collaboration.
We also regularly engage with The Construction Scotland Innovation Centre (CSIC) whenever an opportunity for development has been identified.
At Mackenzie, knowledge sharing through engagement takes place at industry, company and supply chain levels.
Sharing knowledge with our supply chain provides invaluable opportunity for prospective improvements and collaboration and this is done through our biannual Supply Chain Engagement Forum.
The forum helps our supply chain members reduce risks and costs, as well as innovate, grow and build competitive advantage by operating collaboratively and safely.
We firmly believe that innovation can come from any corner of the organisation and we have a number of methods of encouraging our team, partners and supply chain to develop and discuss their innovative ideas from weekly opportunities to engage with senior staff to dedicated innovation forums.
We deliver continuous improvement benefits through utilising our experience and unique understanding of civil engineering processes by optimising the design and delivery process.
Together with our customers, we identify and exploit all potential savings on material costs, project costs, life cycle costs and programme savings through innovation, knowledge sharing, and analysis of management and performance information.
